T. Garey Davis

T. Garey Davis is an associate director in the Center for Leadership and Intercultural Engagement at George Mason University. Before assuming this position, he was a sexual health program coordinator for the HIV and AIDS network in Durban, South Africa. In addition to his current position as an associate director, Davis teaches in two academic disciplines: in the School of Integrative Studies where he teaches a social justice course on diversity, equity, and inclusion; and in the School of Public Health where he teaches courses on sexuality, culture, and the global AIDS pandemic, and introduction to global health.
Davis specializes in social justice programming, identity-development workshops, equity research, intersectionality theory, and anti-oppressive advocacy. He has developed and coordinated a student success peer mentoring program that focuses on the psychosocial, academic, and emotional needs of Black male students. He also developed and leads an annual experiential abroad program taking students to South Africa. Lastly, he is a doctoral candidate in the Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University with an anticipated completion date of December 2026.
