Evan L. Braff

BA Sociology '91, MPA '04

Evan Braff serves as a county-wide coordinator in the Office of County Executive for Fairfax County, Virginia. Braff has more than 27 years of service to Fairfax County and has served in various county roles, including: division supervisor of therapeutic recreation, teen services, after-school programs, division supervisor of senior centers, and regional services and center operations region 4 manager.  

During his tenure with the county, Braff has taken significant leadership roles to advance the health and human services system with strong commitment to results, sustainability, and collective impact. He has received numerous national, state, and local awards for innovation, teamwork, and exemplary leadership.  

Over the years, Braff has maintained a strong commitment to Mason. Since 1998, he has been an adjunct professor in the school of sport recreation and tourism management. He has also served as an internship supervisor and has worked with various Mason departments to collaborate on initiatives in support of Fairfax County residents. In addition to his coursework with Mason, Braff also has a master’s degree in recreation and leisure studies from SUNY Cortland.
