David J. Freedman, Esq.

David Freedman is a partner with Barley Snyder, LLP, a law firm with over 100 attorneys in south-central Pennsylvania. Freedman chairs the firm’s education law group and focuses his practice in the areas of employment, education, and business immigration law. He is also the current president of the Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Bar Association (PBA). The Central Penn Business Journal recently recognized Freedman as one of the 30 most influential legal professionals in central Pennsylvania. In 2020, Freedman received the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s president’s award as part of their COVID-19 task force. The Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center has three times awarded Freedman its Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award, most recently in 2021 for his role as the lead attorney for the U Visa Mandamus Litigation Project. This project involved filing federal court lawsuits against the U.S. Department of Homeland Security seeking to speed up the processing of special visa petitions filed by undocumented victims of domestic violence and sexual assault who have cooperated in the prosecution of the crimes committed against them. Freedman graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law and lives in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.
