Master's Graduation Checklist Spring 2027

The following checklist will help to guide you through the process of completing the requirements for degree conferral. You should refer to the graduation information on the Registrar's website and maintain contact with your thesis committee and Graduate Program Director throughout the semester for information and any changes in deadlines.

October 27 - January 18,  2027 Register for spring 2027 All students

You must be registered during the semester you intend to graduate. Thesis students must register for at least 1 credit of 799. Late registration fees may apply if you register after August 21.

Thesis students will likely need to contact their department for a CRN for registration.

November 1 - February 22,  2027 File Graduation Intent and Update Contact Information

All students

Submit a Graduation Intent through PatriotWeb.

Verify/update your mailing address, phone number, and email address in PatriotWeb.

Diploma and Mailing 

Monday March 29, 2027   
(by 5:00 p.m.)
Thesis Format Review Submission Thesis students Submit thesis documents for format review to University Dissertation & Thesis Services (UDTS) Format 
As Early as Possible Schedule Thesis Defense Thesis students Select and schedule date with your committee and hold defense.  
Wednesday April 28, 2027 (by 5:00 p.m.) Pass Format Review Thesis students UDTS has reviewed and approved your document’s formatting through the Format Review;
You have successfully defended (if a Defense is a requirement for your degree/discipline);
And your committee has approved your content.
 
Friday April 30th, (by 5:00 p.m.) Submit thesis  Thesis students Only submit if UDTS has reviewed and approved your document’s formatting through the Format Review;
You have successfully defended (if a Defense is a requirement for your degree/discipline);
and your committee has approved your content. Review embargo policy. 
Submission
May 7, 2027 Resolve Incomplete Grades All students

Ensure all IP (In Progress) and IN (Incomplete) grades are resolved. 

Work with your instructor and department to resolve. 

 

It is the student's responsibility to ensure that all required approvals are obtained by the submission deadline, and that required paperwork is included with the dissertation submission. The student is solely responsible for insuring that all necessary materials are submitted to the University Library by the submission deadline.

If you are unable to finish your degree requirements in time to graduate in spring 2027, you will need to withdraw your graduation application, register for the requisite credits and file a new intent to graduate for summer 2027.
