New Degree Program

October 2025

Proposals for new programs with an initiation of Fall 2026 should be approved by the college curriculum committee by Oct 2025. Details for new degree program approval timeline can be found here.

Important Dates for 2026-2027 University Catalog

December 15, 2025

Submission deadline for all new/modified courses and modified academic programs. If the curriculum committee has questions or asks for revisions, this will give the proposing program time to review and respond prior to the Undergraduate/Graduate Council deadlines. All changes must be approved by the college and most must be approved by Undergraduate/Graduate Council for inclusion in the 2026-2027 catalog.

Mason Core

The university's Mason Core Committee reviews course proposals throughout the academic year. Agenda items are due (submitted through Courseleaf) 2 weeks prior to meeting date.

Writing Intensive Course

Writing intensive course proposals are submitted through Courseleaf and approved by the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Committee. Contact the WAC program at wac@gmu.edu to determine the next scheduled meeting.
