Shannon Donohue joined the CHSS Advancement & Alumni Relations team as an Associate Director of Major Gifts in January 2022. She has 7 years of experience in advancement and alumni relations for George Mason University, including previous roles with the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) where she managed the scholarship award process, secured annual and major gifts to the college’s top priorities, and engaged the community through development events.

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Shannon received her bachelor’s in urban & environmental planning from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and has continued her education at George Mason University with a graduate certificate in public health. She currently resides in Alexandria with her husband, Kevin (a proud Mason graduate) and their daughter, Madeline.

Shannon’s role includes connecting with Mason alumni and donors to discuss how their philanthropic interests align with the needs and goals of the College. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
