Karla Canizalez

Karla Canizalez, BA Integrative Studies ’17, a dedicated advocate and leader, she serves Prince William County Government, empowering older adults and their families through education, coordination, and meaningful services. With a heart for impact, she strives to uplift and support her community. 

Previously, she was a Government Contractor for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), bringing expertise in project management, operations, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement to drive efficiency and success.  

She is actively involved as a member of Parents as Collaborative Leaders (PACL) through the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC), passionately supporting and advocating for parents of children with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). 

Honored to continue her connection with George Mason University, she remains an engaged member of the Latino Alumni Chapter and is passionate about giving back to the university that helped shape her journey.
