John Boal
John Boal, BS Psychology ’97, MA Experimental Neuropsychology ’02, is a professional photographer specializing in corporate, commercial and editorial photography. Boal got his start as a photographer at a small community daily in Manassas, Virginia, The News & Messenger, eventually pivoting to include more institutional clients. He’s photographed politicians, professional athletes, and even a broadway legend. He delivers storytelling images for a diverse set of clients that include The Boston Globe, The LA Times, The New York Times, Starbucks, HII, Major League Baseball, and George Mason among others.
Boal has served on the board of the D.C. Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers, eventually as the Chapter President. While serving, he assisted in organizing many monthly events as well as a highly regarded annual speaker series at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, booking internationally renowned photographers. He also holds a membership with the National Press Photographers Association. Boal is looking forward to using this experience to help CHHS connect with alumni and create a memorable experience for everyone.
Outside of photography, Boal enjoys listening to a broad array of music, playing golf, hiking, reading, cooking and traveling with his wife, Alicia Boal, BA Communication ’00, and their teenage daughter.
