Carmen Skipworth

Carmen Skipworth, BA International Studies '91, brings global experience, visionary leadership, and a deep commitment to the values of George Mason University. A proud 1991 graduate with a BA in International Relations and Affairs, she has applied her George Mason education in roles spanning from the Washington metropolitan area to Hong Kong, the U.S. Embassy in London, and San Diego. Carmen is the founder and AI/IT consultant at CAMS Innovations, where she advises businesses on artificial intelligence, marketing strategies, and customer experience—while championing women-owned enterprises and the inclusion of women in tech.

Her leadership includes board service with Women in AFCEA San Diego and Women in Defense San Diego, where she led Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. She also serves as Chief ePMO of the Project Management Institute’s San Diego chapter and sits on the Advisory Board for California Assemblymember Tasha Boerner as well as the Advisory Board of WCTE.

Carmen’s active engagement with George Mason's alumni network reflects her passion for reconnecting alumni and building strong regional ties. As a new board member of the CHSS Alumni Chapter, she brings strategic insight, global perspective, and a lifelong dedication to equity and innovation. “I lead by listening, building bridges, and turning ideas into action that creates lasting impact,” she says.
