Abigail Casas

Abigail Casas
Abigail Casas, BA English ‘16, was born in Okinawa, Japan and later relocated and settled in Virginia. Casas attended George Mason University with the intent to obtain a nursing degree. However, as she navigated George Mason's university setting and Presidents Park (a housing area on campus), she found herself gravitating toward her passion for reading, writing, and editing, and switched gears to pursue, and ultimately graduate with a BA in English.
While at George Mason, Casas worked at jobs both on- and off-campus, including as a circulation assistant at Fenwick library, a research assistant through George Mason’s OSCAR program, and as a cashier at the Giant grocery store across the street from the Fairfax campus. She also volunteered with the GMReview, she helped first as a peer reviewer, and later became managing editor during her final year at George Mason.
Casas is currently the communications manager at FedWriters, where she supports internal and external communications, as well as various contract support responsibilities for agencies such as NASA, the Small Business Administration, the Department of Defense, and others.
In her free time, Abigail enjoys learning new skills, such as language learning and crafting, and finding new ways to apply her skills through volunteering.
