Julio Diaz is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Development and currently works as the office manager of the University Life Central at George Mason UniversityPrior to University Life Central, Julio held a position of office manager at the Early Identification Program at Mason. During his time as a master’s student, Julio has focused his research studies on Latinx student success and academic advising. Also, he has represented Mason at conferences for Excelencia in Education and the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). He recently presented a workshop about using technology to help first-generation students access student services’ offices at the 2020 University Life Symposium. 

Julio continues to serve the Mason community as a Safe Zone Training facilitator and the Registered Student Organization Advisor for the Aguilas Mentoring Program. Some of his main professional goals includes being an effective higher education professional and guide students to their college success. Julio hopes to realize his dream of becoming an academic advisor after he graduates in the Spring 2021.
