Alecia Bryan

Director of Advancement Communication

Instructor

Alecia has a BS in Finance and a BA in English from the University of Florida. She spent several years working in the insurance industry and teaching at public schools in Florida before returning to school and completing her MA in English with a focus on writing and rhetoric at the University of North Florida. She later moved to California and taught writing in the community college setting to a demographic of primarily first-generation college students.

Alecia has also worked with a non-profit located in Haymarket, Virginia, where she concentrated on marketing, developing organizational processes, long-range planning, and cultivating community relationships.

Alecia joined Mason's College of Humanities and Social Sciences in November 2015, previously serving the college as development assistant and associate director of development. She now leads the team's strategic development communications—managing corporate and foundation grant applications for CHSS centers and faculty research, writing donor-specific proposals, and working closely with the college's marketing and communications team to contribute alumni content for both the college's annual report and magazine, Horizon. Alecia also works with top prospects and major donors on their initiatives.

In her free time she enjoys creative writing, chalk painting, craft beer, cooking, and coincidental alliteration.
