My capstone studied the relationship between prison work programs and rates of inmate misconduct.

How did you choose your specific area of study?
With a background in sociology and criminology, I wanted to obtain a degree in criminal justice to gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the system.

Which accomplishments during your time at Mason are you most proud of?
I am proud of maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout the program.

What advice would you give to an incoming cohort of graduate students?
Your instructors are there to support your success so do not be afraid to reach out for help or ask questions when lessons are confusing!

What are your current career plans following graduation? What are your long-term career goals?
My long-term career goal is to be a researcher, focusing on prison and re-entry reform.
