What activities were you involved in during your time at Mason that impacted you?

There have been many things that I have been involved in during my time at Mason but my top few favorites include playing club lacrosse where I met a lot of great friends and was able to continue playing the sport. The study abroad trip that I took to Germany was a great experience where I met so many great people and learned a lot while having fun. Lastly, my internship allowed me to make connections and gain many valuable lessons that I will be able to use for the rest of my career.

Did you have a favorite class or professor?

My favorite CHSS professor was Larry Guerin. He was the very first criminology teacher I had as a freshman in the class Introduction to Criminal Justice and from that class, I knew that I had chosen the right major. Larry not only taught his students the content of the class but about great life lessons. He was such a great professor and someone I could look up to in the criminology world that I took two more of his classes after my freshman year. I learned so much from Larry and I always enjoyed going to his class and having him as a professor was a great experience!

What is your next step? What are your future plans?

My future plans are to continue working for the government and to go back to school to get my MBA.

As you are reflecting on your time at Mason, what is one piece of advice you would give a student who is just starting off on their Mason journey?

If I could give one piece of advice to a student just starting off on their Mason journey, it would be to take advantage of everything the school and area has to offer. There is so much to do and so many people to meet, use that to your advantage. Your college experience is what you make of it so have fun and enjoy it!
