CHSS Digest November 11, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

Today we recognize Veterans Day, with gratitude for those who have served since the beginning of our nation’s history. Now more than ever this is time to remember that the world needs our graduates, and our students need us to sustain our educational mission. I am proud of the work you all do to create a space where we can all thrive, even in difficult times – as 2020 has proven to be. We have a shared mission to provide an outstanding education for all of our students and to foster a workplace that allows all of our faculty and staff to succeed and grow. As President Washington noted in his recent message about the election, we are in a position to help our community move forward “peacefully, thoughtfully, respectfully, and patriotically.” CHSS has an opportunity to lead this important work, and I welcome your full partnership in this regard.

Ann Ardis
Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences
