CHSS international travel supplement

CHSS recognizes the value of faculty participation at prestigious international conferences and has established a fund to help defray a portion of the travel costs for international overseas conference participation.  

All CHSS tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply for an International Conference Travel Supplement if they are scheduled to present at an international conference. Eligible faculty should notify their chair or director when considering presentation at an international conference. Faculty should identify: 

  • Name of conference
  • Location of the conference
  • Dates of the conference
  • Type and title of the presentation 

Department chairs can apply for International Conference Travel Supplementals on behalf of the faculty presenter by submitting the request via an online form . Departments must provide partial support of at least $500 if the faculty member's participation is approved for the conference program. Applicants may only receive one supplement each fiscal year. Expenses must be reconciled in the fiscal year of the award, and travel scheduled at the end of the fiscal year (June 30) may be counted in the next fiscal year.
