This course is the capstone for the History major, dedicated to writing a research paper based on primary sources. This section will focus on the history of the U.S. federal government. Students will write papers exploring topics in the histories of a specific political institution, or a particular policy, or in the relationship of citizens to their government. The course will begin by introducing students to some methods and sources used in this subfield. The bulk of the semester will be devoted to individual research, writing, and revising of research papers, as well as to providing feedback to your peers.
