ENGH 202 - 005: Teen Cultures

Curious about the real and fictional lives of teens? Want to know more about how teens think and act as group members? If so, then this is the course for you!

We will read literature that depicts teenagers as its own cultural group and simultaneously as members of additional cultures. An emphasis will be placed on intersectional identities, including race, gender, sexuality, class, etc.

We will read The Hate U Give and other novels, examine Almost American Girl and other graphic memoirs, and watch Heartstopper and other teen shows. Our class will engage in interactive learning activities, such as table competitions, and have a video chat with a Young Adult writer from our syllabus.

Join ENGH 202 for fun and enlightening conversations about teen culture in literature!
