Art Taylor wins Agatha Award for Best First Novel

Art Taylor has won a 2015 Agatha Award for Best First Novel for "On the Road with Del and Louise: A Novel in Stories." This is Taylor's second Agatha, having previously won for his 2013 short story "The Care and Feeding of Houseplants."

The Award, named after Agatha Christie, is handed out by Malice Domestic which describes itself as "an annual 'fun fan' convention in metropolitan Washington, D.C., saluting the traditional mystery—books best typified by the works of Agatha Christie." The awards are literary awards that are given out to salute the "typical mystery", considered by the convention to be represented by the works of Agatha Christie.

Taylor's novel, which is a connected series of stories involving petty criminals Del and Louise. It is described by Taylor as being a "screwball comedy to domestic drama, and from caper tale to traditional whodunit, these six stories offer suspense with a side of romance—and a little something for all tastes."
