Entrepreneur Magazine Lists Mason's Entrepreneurship Program Near the Top

Students who seek to launch themselves into the world of startup businesses have more choices than ever before for gaining an educational boost. George Mason University’s offering in this arena has received a nod from an authority on the subject.

Entrepreneur Magazine’s website lists Mason’s master of arts in interdisciplinary studies degree, with a concentration in social entrepreneurship, as #2 on its listing of ‘7 Schools of Entrepreneurship You Never Heard of That Could Give You a Leg Up.’

The program emphasizes a robust academic foundation of coursework in social entrepreneurship, management, public policy, and public and international affairs, and rounds out the training with experiential learning designed to give students real world opportunities to hone the skills learned in the classroom.

Entrepreneur notes that the concentration introduces students to “the roles that technology, public policy, market-based approaches, research, leadership, strategy and communication play in implementing solutions to urgent challenges around the globe.” Encouraging potential students to “invest in yourself now and reap the rewards later,” the site promotes entrepreneurial education as a way to anticipate and navigate potential obstacles before the students face them in the marketplace.
