The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2026 CHSS Staff & A/P Faculty Recognition Awards, including the Mary Roper Award. These awards provide a meaningful opportunity to recognize and celebrate the exceptional accomplishments, dedication, and contributions of CHSS A/P faculty, classified staff, and non-student wage employees.
New this year is the CHSS Legacy Award, which celebrates colleagues with 10 or more years of service whose dedication and contributions have made a lasting impact on the college. We are excited to add this award as another way to recognize the individuals who have helped shape and strengthen CHSS over the years.

Outstanding New Employee Award
Service Excellence Award
Trailblazer Award
Mentorship Award
Outstanding Supervisor Award
Civility Award

To nominate a colleague, please complete the 2026 CHSS Staff & A/P Faculty Recognition Award Nomination Form by 11:59 p.m. on October 29.
The dynamic form will prompt you to provide a brief overview of the candidate’s background (e.g., length of service at Mason, current role, and prior positions or departments, if applicable) and describe the nominee’s contributions over the past year that demonstrate exceptional performance aligned with the award criteria.

Award recipients will be recognized at a college-wide reception on Tuesday, December 1 at 10 a.m. in the Center for the Arts Third Tier Lobby.
