Universities nationwide are currently reporting technical hurdles with the new SciENcv biographical sketch requirement for federal applications. To ensure your NIH application doesn’t run into any issues, please note the following:
- Submit Early! Because these errors often only become visible at the moment the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) formally submits to the NIH, we are updating our internal submission timelines to ensure no application is left behind. We will now aim to submit proposals 2 business days before the official deadline. This gives us time to fix errors that only appear after OSP hits the submit button.
- Check your ORCID: 90% of issues are linked to ORCID IDs. Ensure your eRA Commons profile and SciENcv biosketch show the exact same ORCID ID.
- If you have multiple ORCID accounts, merge them or ensure you are using the one affiliated with your eRA Commons account.
- While NIH has acknowledged the glitches, we aim to resolve all "warnings" before the deadline to be safe.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate these new federal requirements together. The CHSS Pe-Award Team will be sure to release current information as we receive it.
