Annual Mary Roper Award ceremony expands to recognize even more excellence

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is pleased to announce that Jenna McGwin, director of operations and initiatives, and Susan Turriziani, associate director for Graduate Academic Affairs, are the recipients of the 2024 Mary Roper Award.

The Mary Roper Award honors a College of Humanities and Social Sciences classified staff member who has shown outstanding service in support of the core goals of the college. The recipient directly supports the mission of the department or college through his or her work with faculty, students, staff or the greater university community.

The award is named for Mary Roper, who worked in the Department of Biology and in the dean's office of the College of Arts and Sciences for many years.

This year’s Mary Roper Award has been expanded to honor two recipients, a reflection of the overwhelming response to the call for nominations and the tremendous support for our exceptional staff. It is clear the CHSS community is filled with talented, dedicated individuals who go above and beyond in their roles.
