On April 27, 2010, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will host the Undergraduate Research Symposium. Oral presentations are from 12:20 to 3:00 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Gold Room. Poster presentations are from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Dewberry Hall.
The annual event is a forum for undergraduate students to showcase their scholarship and creative activity. Students who have been selected via a competitive process present posters or oral presentations and discuss their work.
Jamie Cooper, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs, expects more than 50 students to participate, with 42 presentations, 12 oral presentations and 30 poster presentations.
The participants will set up their presentations in Dewberry Hall and be available to discuss their work.
Faculty panels select awards winners in a number of categories. Awards are presented at the end of the symposium.
"The college is extremely proud of the intellectual sophistication exhibited by our undergraduate students, and is pleased to showcase some of the best of their independent research at this year's symposium," said Matthew Zingraff, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Programs.
