The College of Humanities and Social Science’s dean's office staff concluded the semester by donating to the needy and relaxing at holiday celebrations. The office will be closed from December 24 to January 3.
Katie Clare, Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs, organized a successful food drive benefitting Our Daily Bread, a local food pantry. The dean's office staff celebrated together with a holiday lunch at La Dolce Vita in Fairfax. The staff also enjoyed the university holiday party on December 17 in Dewberry Hall. Events Management decked the hall with twinkling lights and tasty treats. The George Mason University Jazz Ensemble played an array of music, and a competitive holiday sweater contest awarded prizes for the most creative attire (one of the college’s staff members, Lynn Simnowitz, won a prize for her illuminating sweater).
The college dean’s office staff enjoyed the opportunity to take a break from the semester bustle to mingle, enjoy refreshments, and help others have a happy holiday. The staff extends warm wishes to all during the holiday season.
