The National Endowment for the Humanities’ Summer Stipends program aims to stimulate new research in the humanities by providing small awards to individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both.
Program guidelines are anticipated to become available on June 18, 2024, with a submission deadline of September 18, 2024. Summer Stipends support continuous full-time work on a humanities project for two consecutive months. This program requires tenured or tenure-track applicants to be nominated by an official on campus. George Mason University has its own internal review process prior to proposal submission.
NEH will be offering a webinar for administrators and prospective applicants on July 10, 2024, at 2PM (Register Here). In this webinar NEH will describe the program and outline a few changes to the 2024 competition. The webinar will describe the application and nomination process and will offer application preparation suggestions. There will be a chance to ask questions, captions will be available, and the webinar will be recorded so others can watch it later.
More information on Mason’s intern deadline and nomination review process will be announced shortly.
