The Inter-American Foundation (IAF), in conjunction with the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) has announced its new Research Fellowship Program to advance rigorous field-based research on actionable questions about community-led development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The IAF Research Fellowship Program seeks to support research designed to assess a) whether, how, and to what extent community-led development efforts have expanded opportunities for their communities sustainably and at scale, b) the conditions under which community-led efforts can most effectively transform local realities, and/or c) the solutions communities have developed to respond to the local implications of global trends. The IAF is interested in community-led efforts that strive to promote economic and other opportunities, promote community rootedness and resilience, respond to chronic violence, promote sustainable agriculture, and address other development issues in which communities are vested.
The IAF will award up to ten Fellowships in 2025, which includes a stipend of $20,000 to support an individual researcher working over the course of twelve months in one or more of the countries where the Inter-American Foundation makes investments. The deadline for applications is December 3, 2024. If you are interested in applying, please submit a CHSS Pre-Award Request for Assistance (PRA form).
