January 17th, 2009 proved to be another victorious day for Mason’s basketball team as they beat James Madison with a score of 71-57. Among those cheering the Patriots on was a group of alumni from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS).
Before the game, more than 130 CHSS alumni joined Dean Jack Censer for the third annual Dean’s Tailgate. This event is quickly becoming a favorite of CHSS alumni who come to see familiar faces, enjoy complimentary basketball tickets, good food, and a chance to win raffle prizes.
Both alumni and their families enjoyed the lunchtime event, held in the Mason Hall Atrium. Children took advantage of a “Kid’s Corner” that featured foam finger and visor decorating, poster making, and basketball word searches.
One highlight of the festivities came during Dean Censer’s welcome speech when the new mascot for George Mason University and a Patriot Cheerleader arrived to greet everyone and take photographs.
