General shout-outs
Jonathan Schulz, assistant professor of economics at George Mason University, recieved the 2022 Royal Economic Society Prize, awarded annually to the best paper published in The Economic Journal. Schulz says,“I am very excited about this prize. I ventured into this project 10 years ago drawing on history, anthropology, and economics; this prize is a great reward for this work and I am very honored." Megan Rodak, global affairs major, and Nathan Stolzenfeld, university scholar and policy and government major, bring two national debate titles back home to Mason after an incredible novice season on Mason's Debate Team. Warren Decker Director of Debate Jackie Poapst says, "For novices coming in after the summer research period and having to catch up makes it even more difficult, making Nathan and Megan’s success even more impressive.” Read more about their numerous victories in their first season on the team.
Mason's Forensics Team was recently awarded second place in the nation at the American Forensics Association National Speech Tournament (AFA-NST) with several students receiving individual honors.
