Upcoming Small Grant and Fellowship Opportunities--$50,000 or less

Multiple Disciplines—National Geographic Society Explorer Awards.  Up to $20,000 to support those working on projects in science, conservation, storytelling, education, and technology that align with one or more of our focus areas. Focus areas include land, human histories and cultures, and human ingenuity.

 

Humanities—Virginia Humanities Rapid Grants.  Up to $5,000 on behalf of a wide array of humanities projects.

Humanities—Virginia Humanities Public Humanities Fellowships.  Fellowships of up to $15,000.

Psychology—American Psychological Foundation.  A number of small grants ($1,000-$50,000) for a range of topics are available to early- and mid-career researchers. Amounts and deadlines vary, and details can be found here:

Anthropology—Wenner Gren Foundation Global Initiatives Grants.  Up to $20,000 for initiatives in which a small amount of money can have a substantial impact and strengthen the capacity for the discipline of anthropology to thrive.
