Dangers and opportunities of Technology: Perspectives from the Humanities

A new grant program from the NEH Office of Digital Humanities has been announced with a February 2, 2023 deadline.

The Dangers and Opportunities of Technology:  Perspectives from the Humanities (DOT) program supports research that will examine the relationship between technology and society. NEH is particularly interested in projects that examine current social and cultural issues that are significantly shaped by technology.

More information about the program and links to the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) may be found on the NEH website. Individual researchers may receive up to $75,000, and collaborative teams may apply for up to $150,000.

Technology has had an enormous impact on modern society, affecting how we work, communicate, learn, engage in the political process, and live. The relationship between technology and culture continues to have dramatic impacts, both positive and negative, on our health, the environment, our social interactions, our government, cultural and educational institutions, the arts, and nearly all other aspects of life.

A virtual pre-application webinar will be held on October 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern.  Register here.
