CHSS Research will be hosting the following events in February and March 2022. For more information about any of these events and to register, please click on the title for the event(s) of interest. Although the Sponsor Talk will be recorded, the grant writing workshops will not be recorded.

Sponsor Talks Series Event: National Science Foundation CAREER awards versus standard grants - February 9, 2022 - 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

Dr. Jeff Mantz and colleagues from the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) will discuss strategies for deciding between applying for the Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER) versus a standard grant proposal, particularly for SBE.

The number of registrations is unlimited and open to all.

Grant Writing Workshops with Barbara Endemaño Walker, Research Development Professional – February and March 2022

Dr. Endemaño Walker will provide three workshops focused on research and grant writing strategies for the humanities and social sciences. Each workshop will include  a 2-hour virtual presentation and related electronic handouts. Each workshop participant will also receive a copy of Dr. Endemaño Walker’s book, “Funding Your Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences”, to use during the workshop and as a reference. The titles, dates, and times for the workshops are:

  1. Strategic Planning for Productive Research Careers – February 17, 2022, 2:00-4:00 PM EST
  2. Proposal Writing 101 – February 24, 2022, 2:00-4:00 PM EST
  3. Anatomy of a Winning Proposal – March 7, 2022, 2:00-4:00 PM EST

Registrations for the workshops are limited to 30 participants and priority will be given to CHSS faculty and postdocs. You are welcome to register for one, two or all three! To register and for more information, click on the title of workshop of interest. Register early to secure your place!
