Fellowships and Career Development in the Humanities and Social Sciences

CHSS Research Sponsor Talk

CHSS Research hosted two events in March; on March 23 and 25 panels of representatives from various federal agencies discussed fellowships and career development opportunities offered by their organizations as well as best practices for competing for these opportunities; and CHSS faculty discussed their experiences competing for these types of awards.

The March 23 event, Fellowships and Career Development Opportunities for the Humanities, included a panel consisting of:

Russ Wyland, Deputy Director, National Endowment for the Humanities
David Travis, Assistant Grants Management Specialist, National Endowment for the Arts
Janna Deitz, Outreach and Partnerships - The John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress
Rashmi Sadana, Associate Professor, CHSS Sociology and Anthropology 

The March 25 event, Fellowships and Career Development Opportunities for the Social and Behavioral Sciences, featured a panel consisting of:

Belinda Sims, Health Scientist Administrator, NIMH, National Institutes of Health
Jeff Mantz, Program Director, National Science Foundation
Janna Deitz, Outreach and Partnerships, The John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress
Cynthia Lum, Professor, CHSS Criminology, Law, and Society
