Finding Balance in Teaching and University Service

The National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD) has shared an article, “Just Say No,” about the importance of balancing university service requests with teaching and research responsibilities. The piece offers interesting considerations for navigating a conversation that can be difficult for all faculty and staff members.

Accessing the link requires membership in the NCFDD, which is FREE to Mason faculty and staff through the university’s institutional membership with the center. Mason faculty (administrative and professional, term, tenured, tenured track, adjunct), staff, and graduate students can join. The center offers mentoring, programming, and resources to assist faculty, postdocs, and graduate students in making successful transitions throughout their careers.
