Christian Suero, Doctoral Student of Sociology & WGST Wins Paper Award


Congratulations to Christian Suero, recipient of the Irene B. Taeuber Graduate Student Paper Award. The competition is administered by the District of Columbia Sociological Society (DCSS). It is open to all graduate students enrolled in Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia area colleges and universities. The winning author receives a $200 cash award and recognition at DCSS's annual May Awards Dinner.

Christian is a doctoral student of sociology as well as a certificate student of Women and Gender Studies. He is currently the graduate assistant for Residential Student Engagement. His research interests focus on well-being, labor, race/ethnicity, first generation students, and higher education. He hopes to become a professor of sociology. He also aspires to be a leader and advocate for first generation students who wants to create change for individuals, societies, and future generations.
