Adjunct faculty AJ Thurston in the Department of Psychology received the university's Adjunct Faculty Service Award at the Outstanding Achievement Awards ceremony on April 14.
Thurston, who specializes in industrial and organizational psychology, was recognized by his College of Humanities and Social Sciences colleagues and the university's Human Resources department for displaying exceptional commitment and service to the university, its mission, and its students.
"AJ exemplifies the values of George Mason University through his dedication to teaching excellence, service, collaboration, and student-centered learning," said Kim Eby, vice provost for faculty affairs and development. "He has supported colleagues, students, and the applied industrial organizational psychology program through teaching core courses, launching the military and veterans research community, and contributing to program growth. A trusted colleague and a passionate educator, he consistently enhances the George Mason experience."
