With the opening of the 2023-24 academic year, Dean Ardis announced several new department chairs throughout the college, while expressing gratitude to chairs completing their term of service.
Tim Curby is serving as interim chair of the Department of Psychology following Keith Renshaw’s departure to serve as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education.
Kim Meltzer has been appointed chair of the Department of Communication. Professor Meltzer joins our faculty from Marymount University, where she has been serving as director of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, co-director for the Marymount University Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication, and faculty advisor to The Banner, Marymount’s student newspaper.
Karl Zhang is serving as interim chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages as former chair Mohammad Salama has accepted appointment as CHSS Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs.
Dean Ardis also thanked Anne Nicotera for her 10 years of service as chair of the Department of Communication and Richard Craig for serving as interim summer chair.
