The war on Gaza is soon entering its 4th week. Israel's aerial and ground offensive has killed 1,000 Palestinians and injured 4,500. Hamas has killed 10 Israelis (four more were killed by "friendly" fire). Why does this offensive come at the heels of the Obama Administration? How has it exacerbated an existing humanitarian crisis in Gaza wrought by an Israeli blockade? What are the international law implications of the offensive? And what next for the peace process?
