James M Buchanan: A Celebration of Scholarship

George Mason University and the Center for Study of Public Choice are proud to host an academic conference and memorial reception to honor the life and scholarship of Nobel Laureate James M. Buchanan, 1919-2013. The program will be a grand affair for all of Jim's colleagues, students, and friends.

A plenary session will be held on Sunday morning. Conference papers are to be published after review in Constitutional Political Economy, the journal started with Jim's initiative. A memorial reception on Sunday afternoon will feature a series of short personal reflections on Jim and his contributions. Reflections will be offered by Geoffrey Brennan, Roger Congleton, Charles Plott, Dennis Mueller, Peter Bernholz and many others.
