Volunteers Needed to Test Emergency Volunteer Procedures
Tuesday, March 20, 2012 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM EDT
Johnson Center, Third floor, Conference rooms E and F
During public emergencies, Volunteer Fairfax has been the lead agency for disaster volunteer management in Fairfax County. Volunteer Fairfax has recently rewritten its procedures for its Volunteer Reception Center (VRC), to allow it to more effectively process and mobilize citizens and resources during times of community need.
Volunteer Fairfax is planning to test its new procedures on Tuesday, March 20, and is seeking volunteers to play the part of emergency volunteers. No prior training is needed and there are no physical limitations prohibiting participation. This is a great event for anyone aged 14 and up.
Participants are asked to commit 30 minutes of time, and will be asked to provide general feedback and suggestions after exiting the Volunteer Resource Center. Interested volunteers should email Volunteer Fairfax at tkreitzer@volunteerfairfax.org.
