Patriot Pantry winter holiday support

Help Patriots who are facing food insecurity

November 13, 2023 to December 6, 2023 EST
Horizon Hall, Dean's Office, 6th Floor

How to help: Please donate personal hygiene items

Despite its status as one of the wealthiest counties in the United States, there is still significant financial need in Fairfax County. Students attending Mason are not exempt from stress caused by the high cost of food, gas, and rent. Fortunately, students experiencing food insecurity have access to non-perishable food and hygiene supplies from the Patriot Pantry.

The Patriot Pantry uses an online ordering and contactless pickup system. If a currently enrolled student is experiencing food insecurity and is eligible for services, he or she submits an online order to receive non-perishable food and hygiene supplies. The pantry staff fulfill the order and notify the student when it is ready for pickup.

During the Winter Break when Mason is closed, December 18 – January 2 (17 days), the Patriot Pantry will be closed. The approximately 50 students who use the pantry each week will not have access to assistance during this time. This year, Wegmans Fairfax will donate 50 bags of food for students needing assistance. CHSS faculty and staff are encouraged to donate personal care items from the list below. Any donation is welcome!

Please bring donations of food and/or personal care items (all items included as noted below) to the Dean’s Office, Horizon Hall 6th floor any time between November 13 and December 6.
