CHSS Recognition for Doctoral Students

Thursday, December 17, 2020 3:30 PM EST

Congratulations!

Following George Mason University's Winter Graduation on December 17, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will hold a special recognition for its students receiving their doctoral degrees at that event.

Students, their family, friends, and supporters, along with faculty and staff of the college are invited to join us at 3:30 pm on December 17 to attend our virtual celebration to honor this important milestone. The ceremony is a special occasion and doctoral students are encouraged to invite their friends and family members to join them to watch online.

The ceremony will last approximately one hour. The live event is hosted by Dean Ann Ardis. The events, including pre-recorded and live remarks, will be given by President Washington, Provost Ginsberg, and the college’s Associate Dean for Graduate Affairs Marguerite Rippy. Each student’s name will be read aloud by Professor Mills Kelly in recognition of their accomplishments.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, we will share a toast in honor of your hard work and achievement, so if you like, please have a festive beverage on hand.

Registration

All graduating doctoral students who wish to participate are asked to register beforehand. The Zoom link to the event will be provided to registered students the day before the event. You may then share it with family, friends, your committee members, and other faculty. Please do not post or share the event link in public spaces, such as social media accounts
