Lauren Ray

Majors: BS in Conflict analysis and resolution with a concentration in justice and reconciliations, BA foreign languages with a concentration in Korean 

Hometown: Plant City, FL 

Plans after graduation: Ray is a student in George Mason’s accelerated master’s program and will continue her education by completing a graduate degree in conflict analysis and resolution. 

Most impactful course: Learning Korean through visual media. “At the end of the course, we worked with Korean students to make our own Korean drama. My group made a gender swap version of Boys Over Flowers. We had a drama screening and got to watch everyone’s and vote for the best. Our group won all the awards with me winning the best actress and our drama winning best drama.” 

Immersive experience at Mason Korea 

Ray started her freshman year as a Mason Korea student and spent two years there. “I really think that it was through immersing myself that I was able to learn Korean quickly. Not only was I able to make Korean friends but I was able to experience the culture and language firsthand.”
