What was the most impactful class you took in your major?
GLOA 400, or "Decolonization". The course gave a very raw, realistic look at the world's colonial history. The professor was great (as are all I've had at Mason), but I feel that every person who wants to understand our world as it is today should learn and understand the content of that class.
What activities were you involved in during your time at Mason that impacted you?
I didn't really participate in out-of-class activities, as I worked a lot while going to school. However, being able to meet such a vast array of people from different places and backgrounds was a very valuable experience. Mason's diversity is amazing.
What is your most memorable “Mason moment?”
It is not one single moment, but for me personally, being able to take what I learned at Mason and apply it to my daily life. Whether it was basic Arabic language skills or Global Affairs knowledge and understanding, I feel like I have gained a ton from my experience on campus.
As you are reflecting on your time at Mason, what is one piece of advice you would give a student who is just starting off on their Mason journey?
Take your time choosing your area of study... and enjoy your time in college! If you enjoy what you study, I think it will also enrich your experience :)
What is your next step after graduation? What are your future plans?
Apply to jobs. I am hoping for maybe something with DHS or something to do with counter-terrorism. I am still deciding! However+M13, my main goal is to enjoy and live my life to the fullest!
