Dean Censer Welcomes Thanksgiving Holiday

Dean Censer Welcomes Thanksgiving Holiday

As we enter the holiday season, we asked a few friends to tell us why they are thankful this year:

"I am thankful for having a loving wife, wonderful children, and grandchildren, and an extended family that keeps me feeling young. I am also thankful to be able to give back to George Mason through my role on the Advisory Board. Meeting and interacting with others who are also interested in making Mason an even better place to learn is a very rewarding experience for me."

- Robert Lightburn, MA ’04, Advisory Board Chair, College of Humanities and Social Sciences

“Now in the midst of my 32nd year at Mason, first as a faculty member and now as an associate dean, I'm grateful that I've been given the opportunity to grow along with the college. It's been a challenging time. I've learned a great deal and hope I've been able to give back as much as I've received. I'm also thankful for the wonderful people I work with every day. Without them the work would be far less enjoyable, if indeed even possible.”

- Dee Ann Holisky, Senior Associate Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences

“I'm thankful for my wonderful and supportive family who has done so much for me and I am more than thankful to be a part of the George Mason Club football team as the team photographer. By far it is the best experience, and I'm thankful for the opportunity.”

- Ariff Azahari, BA ’09, Communication

I hope you will come back to visit us soon, either for one of our academic events, or for our Sixth Annual Dean’s Tailgate, which will be on January 21 at 2 p.m. before the men’s basketball game against Towson University. Stay tuned for more details!

Yours in Patriot Pride,

Jack R. Censer
Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences
