From everyone at CHSS Pre-Award, we wanted to thank you all for your hard work over the past year and your perseverance through the challenging grant landscapes. We know this has been difficult, but you made it; we wish you all a restful summer and a well-deserved break.
This summer if you would like to catch up on some pre-award research activities we are sharing some resources with you:
- Interested in looking for funding opportunities and would like some help getting started? The CHSS Pre-Award team can meet with you and show you how to get started. Simply fill out an FFO Form and they will set up a time to meet with you and go over how to use the resources and help find funding. They will also do some preliminary searches for you to get started.
- Interested in applying for externally sponsored, grant funding? Check out the latest open funding opportunities. The most current, curated list of CHSS relevant, open federal and foundation funding opportunities can be found under Upcoming Funding Opportunities 3/2026-6/2026 on the CHSS Research Resources SharePoint site. If you don’t have access, you can request access.
- Research Security Training- If you have some time in the summer and plan on applying for federal grants in the fall, it is a good idea to complete the Research Security Training modules that are now required for federal grant submissions. Currently it is required for NIH, NSF, DOE. You can access the training modules here. They take about an hour to complete. NSF, NIH, DOE, DOD, and USDA all recognize completion of the SECURE Center’s condensed module as compliant with their respective RST requirements. You can access the training once you log onto Mason LEAPS.
- If you are planning to submit proposals over the summer, please fill out the PRA form as soon as possible. Summer is when the team also takes vacation, so late submissions will not be accepted. Thank you for understanding.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out CHSS Pre-Award!
