Congrats to Cher Weixia Chen, associate professor in the School of Integrative Studies, on publishing a co-edited volume, "Research Handbook on Global Governance," from Edward Elgar Publishing. With contributions from 38 scholars around the world, this carefully curated research handbook provides a wide-ranging exploration of global governance, including its successes and failures. It challenges the promise that global institutions and frameworks offer solutions to major world challenges such as climate change, pandemics, war, democracy, human rights, and inequalities. Congrats, Cher!
Kudos to Mohammed Eloghari, PhD Sociology '25 and an affiliate faculty member of the Movement Engaged Hub within the Center for Social Science Research in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, on publishing an article in Foreign Affairs. His article, "Are Palestinians Ready to Shed Hamas?" examines how Palestinian public opinion has shifted over the course of the Gaza war and why these shifts matter for any viable political transition.
Shout out to global affairs Assistant Professor Yasmin Ipek on the publication of her new book, "Crisiswork: Activist Lifeworlds and Bounded Futures in Lebanon," by Stanford University Press. Crisiswork presents a story of Lebanon through the lens of activist lifeworlds, showing how, amid crisis, both political structures and everyday life become a terrain of generative possibility. Read more. Congrats, Yasmin!

Kudos to art history graduate student Alice Farinhas on participating in Graduate Student Museum Study Day at the Museum of Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C. The event brought together leading scholars and graduate students to delve into the mysteries of quipus—ancient Andean recording devices made of knotted strings.
