George Mason’s midcycle performance check-in process for Classified Staff, A/P Faculty, and their supervisors will launch on October 1. This midpoint check-in is a valuable opportunity for supervisors and employees to assess progress on projects and initiatives, celebrate recent accomplishments, provide constructive feedback, and address any challenges or concerns that may exist.
While the check-in is optional this year, there are a few important exceptions:
- The check-in is required for employees who have not yet participated in an annual evaluation process or to address performance concerns.
- Individual departments or units may also determine that the check-in is required for their A/P faculty and classified staff.
Full details can be found on the Midcycle Check-In Guidance HR website.
What to Expect
On October 1 all A/P faculty and classified staff hired on or before June 30 will receive an automated email from MasonLEAPS inviting them to begin the optional check-in by completing their self-reflection. The check-in is intended to review the period April 1–September 30. Please note, a recent system update also means the look and feel of the midcycle check-in process will be slightly different this year.
Overview & Q&A Sessions
To help ensure participants are prepared for these changes, CHSS HR is pleased to offer a brief 30-minute Midcycle Check-In Process Overview & Q&A session. We encourage you to attend the session live to take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions; however, a recording will be made available for those who are unable to participate.
- Monday, October 6, 10-10:30 a.m. See email from chsshr@gmu.edu for the link.
