Contact and connections to faculty are a huge difference maker when it comes to prospective undergrads selecting a university and a major.
We are looking for faculty members who are willing to make relatively easy commitments that have major impacts on our college.
There are countless opportunities across the academic year and the summer months for faculty of all ranks and categories to participate in various aspects of recruiting, mentorship, and prospective student and family visits on campus. Here are examples:
- speak on a panel to represent your discipline/degree program to prospective undergraduate students
- participate in Q&A session on a specific topic (career pathways, internships, research and mentorship, study abroad) at a
- prospective or current student event
- share your experiences as a first gen student and inspire students with your personal educational journey
- teach a simulated classroom experience to visiting families and prospective students: this is the highest rated and most enjoyed activity that visitors to Mason participate in
- staff a table showcasing your major or minor at a prospective or current student event
