CHSS midcycle performance check-in resources

Mason’s midcycle performance check-in process for classified staff, A/P faculty, and their supervisors will launch on October 1, 2024. This midpoint check-in is a valuable opportunity for supervisors and employees to assess progress on projects and initiatives, celebrate recent accomplishments, provide constructive feedback, and address any challenges or concerns that may exist. While participation in the midcycle check-in process remains optional this year, your involvement can significantly contribute to your success—and that of your team—and the overall effectiveness of our performance management process.

Additional benefits include:

  • Enhanced communication: performance check-ins offer a chance to strengthen the dialogue between supervisors and employees, ensuring that expectations are clear and any potential issues are addressed promptly.
  • Goal alignment: this is an ideal time to review progress toward goals, adjust objectives if necessary, and set a clear path for the remainder of the evaluation period.
  • Employee development: By providing or receiving timely feedback, team members’ professional growth will be supported and teams will be better equipped to achieve their full potential.
  • Increased engagement: Employees who receive regular, constructive feedback often feel more engaged and motivated, which can positively impact overall team performance.
